Based in Chislehurst, Kent, we have been dog owners and carers for over 30 years. We are fully insured and qualified in dog first aid.
We take our dogs on wonderful long varied walks across the beautiful county of Kent ensuring our walks are in country parks with woods to explore and brooks and ponds to swim in and cool down.
We believe that mental stimulation is just as important as physical and offer daycare, boarding and single walks. We also provide raw food and behaviour consultancy.
We are normally very busy, but if we cannot fit you in we know plenty of Vizsla people who may have space.
Only a Vizsla owner could possibly appreciate just how unbelievably special, how loving, how caring, how sensitive and how stark raving bonkers they are.
aka: Rudi Toodi
Born in November 2016, Rudi joined us as a puppy from the Karaszy Vizsla family. He attends gun dog training classes, is an excellent hunter and loves retrieving.
Following extensive research we now have him on a carefully planned diet and have managed to keep him (mostly) allergy free.
aka: For F••ks Sake Bryan
We adopted Bryan in 2023. He wasn’t originally called Bryan but the minute we met him we knew he was going to be Bryan……..
Bryan is special, very special!
He has a list of challenges including stunted growth (we are constantly asked if he is a puppy), but we love him and so does everyone who meets him.
He pulls the funniest faces and has his own dedicated fanbase following vizsla_house on Instagram.
He has a secret human crush on Flo and goes all giddy every time he sees her and is obsessed with the dishwasher, just in case there are any scraps to lick.
aka: Edie Mcready, Edie Marshtitch
Believe it or not, Edie was a rescue at the tender age of ten weeks. Luckily for Edie MrVizslahouse is a soft touch and fell for the old “but she really loves you” trick.
Edie has earned the nickname Edie Marshtitch in reference to her being a reverse gardener.
She looks like butter wouldn’t melt in her mouth but she has the ability to ungarden for England. No plant is safe when she is around.
On the plus side she has already been moved up from beginners to novice level at Auntie Courteney’s classes and is showing signs of becoming a cracking gundog.
She is a Daddy’s girl and loves her MrVizslahouse
Don’t tell anyone, this is a secret, but he secretly loves her the best.
A day stay consists of two walks of at least 1 hour, a comfy place to rest during the day and lots of love and attention. If you require any basic training for your dog we are happy to discuss this with you. Your dog will be given a VizslaHouse tag to wear during their stay with us, we also supply your dog with a coat during wet weather months.
A sleepover includes the same benefits of a day stay as well as feeding at your preferred times with your chosen food. You can supply your own food or we can offer a raw feeding package. They can sleep downstairs in a cave bed or a Tuffies™, on the sofas in the living room or a designated bed upstairs!
Nina is our baby. She is beautiful and we all love her. Her nickname is El Niño because she is a like tropical storm with thunder and lightning followed by periods of calm and extended tranquility.
We toyed with the idea of nicknaming her Kermit as she loves to sit halfway up the stairs.
Her favourite TV programme is Peppa Pig but more recently she is showing an interest in Channel 4 News and BBC Question Time.
Nora is Nina's new partner in crime. The sassy sisters are a double act and always dress in matching collars. As much as Nora loves a 200mph chase with Nina around the woods, she loves nothing more than cuddling up on the sofa watching Tipping Point. She loves a bit of "Lateral Movement" but hates an "Ambient Drop".
Pepper can jump 3 feet in the air 20 times in a row from a standing start and particularly enjoys sunbathing in the middle of the lawn.
Her favourite TV program is Gardeners World where she got her nickname "Monty".
because she loves a spot of "gardening"
Unfortunately her favourite episode was the one that featured "digging, tunnelling & live heading"
Dexter is half English and half Australian.
Known affectionately as Reg Prescott (you may need to Google that one) because he normally has a bandage on something.
He can sit for hours on end staring at a bird in a tree.
He loves watching repeats of Top Gear on Dave. His favourite presenter is James May as he likes his extravagant shirts and particularly likes a pearlescent white Range Rover Sport SVR.
(Well he is from Chislehurst)
Nobody messes with Pepper "take you down to Chinatown" Potts. Currently, second in command to ultimate superbitch Ayva, she totally takes no prisoners.
She strikes hard... strikes fast... no mercy.
After a hard day guarding her favourite chair she likes to watch MMA on Sky Sports, Bruce Lee movies, reruns of Nigel Benn fights, and knows every scene in The Karate Kid off by heart.
Wax on, Wax off!
There is a famous saying of "well if you are walking one, you may as well walk two" and Baba Jeno is Pepper Pott's new sidekick. Jeno is getting a bit tasty with his gun dog training skills but also has an intriguing skill of being able to stare into space for hours at a time.
Nala's two most favourite things are food and tennis balls. She adores long country walks and chilling in the sun in the garden (when she can find some). She is also particularly fond of pigeons but the less said about that, the better.
Her favourite programme is Loose Women. She really loves it when Sally Lindsay is on but she really doesn't like Coleen Nolan.
Eric is a very posh WHV.
(Wire Haired Vizsla)
He goes to private school and likes Cricket and Polo. He likes to hang out in all the cool places in Chislehurst but particularly likes The Cockpit.
Eric likes sport on TV but his real passion is Opera.
He goes all goey when Mr Vizslahouse pops a bit of "Oh! mio babbino caro" on the vinyl! (The Renata Tebaldi version)
Eddie is a baby and we get the feeling he may not be called "Little Eddie" for long. He can't be big Eddie as we already have one so we have a dilemma. Watch this space.
Little Eddie loves nothing more than watching the Chase. He prefers the Celebrity version but hides behind the sofa when "The Governess" is doing the chasing!
** Update Little Eddie is now +30KG**
Murphy is an honorary Vizsla. (He's actually a Cockerpoo). He rocked up in 2023 to become everyone's best mate. He loves a rough and tumble in the garden with Bryan and Edie and after a hard days running around he likes to relax and take it easy with a 10k run listening to Rage against the Machine.
Darcy is the supermodel of the Vizslaworld with legs that go up to her ears. She's a social butterfly with 6 zillion followers on Instagram and with an IQ of 210 she's not just a pretty face!
She's no fan of daytime TV, but as a style queen, loves clubbing, festivals and fashion.
She is the only member of VH crew to have her own rider which includes fillet steak, sparkling water, fresh clean, white towels and Ed Sheeran music in Dave the Defender on the way back from the woods.
As a working Vizsla, what Oscar lacks in tail he makes up for in heart. He is a big favourite at Vizslahouse. He's recently transitioned to a full raw diet and is now delivering "competition level dog-logs" on a regular basis.
He doesn't watch tv but he has clearly spent too much time with @MrVizslahouse and is now a massive Radiohead fan. His favourite album is somewhat controversially, the 2003 masterpiece "Hail to the Thief"
Fifa was named after the Playstation game by her human brothers Micah & Noah. She likes to play with the big boys and what she lacks in size, she makes up for in personality.
She loves watching Gary Lineker on the Sunday morning rerun of Match of the day. The Saturday night one is way past her bedtime so she's started following Gary on Twitter to keep up with all the gossip.
Otto is a German Short Haired Pointer, otherwise known as the thinking mans Vizsla. His bark can be heard on the moon and he can pull an 18 wheeler truck full of concrete (with square wheels) up a hill without breaking a sweat.
Otto likes to relax in his favourite armchair wearing his smoking jacket, cravat and monocle listening to Classic FM while keeping an eye on the latest performance of his hedge funds on his iPad Pro.
Heidi has the most amazing eyes that can see right through to the back of your brain. She brings a bit of calm to the Vizslahouse. She loves nothing more than a bit of rough and tumble in the garden with the lads but her favourite place is chilling on the bed, with the sun making her coat glow through the bedroom window.
She loves This Morning but only when Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoghbooby are on. (She really doesn't like Eammon Holmes)
Henry loves to hunt and chase in the woods with his Vizsla mates when he stays at Vizslahouse. His favourite thing is to show his empty food bowl anticipating afters or maybe even a pigs ear.
He loves watching TV and his favourite programme is The SuperVet. He is a bit of a softie though and hides behind the sofa during the surgery bit.
Frank is a strange looking Vizsla.
Since he gave up the booze he became addicted to Wheeler Dealers on Discovery HD and now spends any spare time doing a full engine rebuild on his Mk 1 Ford Escort Mexico.
You can be sitting in a room alone watching TV and before you know it Frank is there, on the arm of your chair, fast asleep.
There is nothing Penelope likes more than dressing up as Pat Butcher and having a good old roll around in some fresh poo.
The look of pure joy on her face when she is “in the act” is worth the stinky car journey home.
After Penelope's third daily shower she loves to get her animal print PJ's on and snuggle up to an episode of Love Island. "Got a text!"
Sadly in October 2023 we had to say goodbye to our beautiful Ayva, at the tender age of 9 due to a heart tumor.
She was a rescue dog and lived with us for a wonderful, initially unpredictable, eventful, but ultimately joyful five years.
We adopted Ayva via her breeders Rubina DaSilva and Laura Sexton at four years old. These ladies go out of their way for all of their pups and they did the same for Ayva when she needed rehoming.
The first day we got her we thought we had the perfect addition to the family. How wrong we were!
The next morning, as soon as the alarm went off she was a different dog, anxious, barking and snappy when @mrvizslahouse left for work.
To add to that, she also lunged, barked and snapped at children and chased joggers and cyclists.
My research for a cure took me down a very deep rabbit hole. I learned so much. I saw a lot that I didn’t like and some things I really did like.
I took all the bits I liked and got to work.
I realised it was pointless trying to correct the reaction as she was already super hyper first thing and stayed in that state most of the day.
Instead I looked at what was creating these reactions.
As I said earlier, her first trigger was the morning alarm. She would whine, pace and snap at anyone leaving.
From this, I gathered she was left for long periods. That wasn’t a problem as I was with her all day.
To tackle the chasing of joggers I used the CARE system.
It took ages but she got it.
I took her out daily on great woodland walks, had loads of sniffs and free running. We practiced recall and engagement, she loved food so that made the job easy. I then recruited dog savvy children of friends and family to fine tune her new behaviour (in a controlled environment)
Eventually, these triggers were no longer on her radar. Sticks, hunting for balls, chasing squirrels and rolling in multiple varieties of sh*t became her priority.
In 8-12 months we had her off line walking beautifully, with a cracking recall, and being a generally good girl.
It wasn’t plain sailing, it wasn’t quick, it was hard and I experienced some horrible people, but I won’t dwell on those numpties!!
So instead I’d like to do a roll call and a BIG thank you to all the children who helped my Ayva Lou.
My nephews Ben and Sam
Macy and Betsy
Olly and Evie
Toby, Alex and Baby Luke
Noah and the Tenacious Micah
You’re all Super Hero’s in my eyes 🥰🥰
Lots of Love Julie xxx
In loving memory of Vizslahouse legend Ted, who sadly passed away just after his 11th birthday in October 2023.
Ted had been suffering for many months with chronic pain in his joints due to advanced arthritis, which soon spread to his spine, meaning the use of his back legs was minimal, and he was unable to walk without assistance.
He left behind his brother Frank the Pug who would often be found any time of day close to his side, snuggled up in his fur, and his sister Penelope the Vizsla who learnt all her social cues from Ted, how to dig the best holes, and how to cunningly look at the floor and not the plate when the humans were eating!
Teddy loved absolutely everyone he met. He was always close by for affection and adored belly rubs, particularly from the little humans
Although greatly missed, his Mum is thankful for the wonderful years she had him, and the love he showed, and could read her energy, helping her through some really tough times.
Mr VizslaHouse loved to snuggle up with Ted on the sofa, even though MrV loves a black T-shirt and Ted was very white and very very fluffy.
He was also known to ditch the dog pack on a walk, and casually wander off with a bunch of horses!
Ted loved a horse!
Teddy was the most special dog.
RIP Ted x.
Sadly Vince has now passed. 😢 RIP Vince
Nala stayed at Vizslahouse while my husband and I enjoyed a couple of long weekends away. When Nala returned, all I can say, is she looks like she's come back from the dog equivalent of a hen weekend in Ibiza. A very contented little girl. I love watching the updates on the vizsla_house Instagram account which put my mind at rest and allowed us to enjoy our break.
Kerri - Nala's Mum
Julie has offered me a flexible solution to my work commitments. Fifa always comes home happy and exhausted and with a cheeky smile on her face.
Coco - Fifa's Mum
Vince was one of Vizslahouse's first clients, he absolutely loves Julie and the family. He pined for Rudi & Ayva when he got home and clearly developed a bit of a man crush on Bentley the Schnauzer. I would highly recommend Vizslahouse, (but not too much just in case there is no space for us next time). Julie offers a bespoke service for the individual crazy Vizsla needs.
